Sculptra Facial Injections*
Sculptra is not a miracle and not a quick fix. It is the first facial injectable product that provides subtle progressive volume improvements over time. Sculptra is designed to be used usually as a multi-step treatment protocol. Each treatment introduces more of the product into the areas that warrant more volume. The treatments are usually performed a month apart. Most patients will achieve their desired volume improvement by the third treatment.
Sculptra begins to work within the deep dermis of the skin. It is placed below the depressed areas or where more volume is need. It helps to reinforce and then replace lost collagen.
What is Sculptra?
This process has been scientifically proved to progressive with improving volumes up to 9 months after the end of the treatments and sustained results up to two years after the protocol.
Sculptra is made in a laboratory and is a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid. This material is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body as it works to replace lost collagen. This material has been commonly used for decades in dissolvable stitches. It has been used as a facial injectable since 1999 in over 30 countries.

The injection process for Sculptra Ashburn
The patient will have a topical anesthetic placed on cleaned facial skin, no make up. This medication takes about 30 minutes to achieve the best effect. Then the Sculptra which has been prepared ahead of time is injected into the needed areas. The placement of the product requires multiple injections to achieve the best result. Sculptra will also be placed at different depths on the face to achieve the most natural and lasting result.
The Sculptra is mixed with some lidocaine and this further helps to alleviate any brief discomfort. It also serves to make the areas numb for about 30 minutes after the treatment. The face will look full but not over corrected. The results are visible immediately. There may be some bleeding and ultimate bruising from the needle sticks. The immediate volume fullness will remain for a few weeks and gradually go down a bit. Then at this point, it is time for the second treatment. The third treatment follows in a similar process. The amount of volume that remains is progressively more and then the collagen stimulation begins to take over and new natural volume is restored. These results will last up to 24 months after the last treatments. It is FDA approved to promote collagen synthesis for up to two years.
